Field testers are on version 0.9.6. Every camera in batch one ships with version 1.0, and updates are free for the life of the camera.

Auto ISO now prefers faster shutter speeds when the lens is focused closer than 1.5 m. Fixes a rare freeze when formatting a full card.

Adds the Mono colour profile with a yellow-filter option. Wi-Fi connects in about three seconds instead of eight.

How to update

From the app
Open the Halde app with the camera connected. If an update is ready, tap Install and keep the camera within a few metres until it restarts.

From an SD card
Download the file from the app or from your order email, copy it to the top level of a card and switch the camera on while holding Fn.

Check it worked
Hold the ISO wheel in while switching on: the top display shows the version number for three seconds.
Firmware questions
Will updates add new features?
Small ones, where they make the camera simpler to use. We won’t add menus for their own sake, and we’ll never remove a feature you paid for.
Can an update go wrong?
Updates check the battery first and refuse to start below 50%. If an update is interrupted, the camera starts from its previous version.
Do I lose my settings?
No. Settings, your name in the files and the shot counter all stay.
