The atelier

Four pairs of hands

Our jewellers trained in Paris, Geneva, Antwerp and the workshops of Dubai’s Gold Souk. They now share one bench above our Jumeirah salon.

Céline’s story

Céline Aurelle trained as a bench jeweller in Paris and spent eleven years making for other houses, the last four of them in Dubai, most of it setting other people’s designs. In 2014 she took a small workshop on the first floor of a villa in Jumeirah with one bench, one apprentice and a rule: every piece would be made in recycled gold, by the person who drew it.

The salon downstairs followed two years later, so clients could see stones in daylight and meet the people making their ring. Twelve years on there are four jewellers, still one bench, and still the same rule.

Materials and sourcing

We buy stones we can trace to the mine, through the Dubai Diamond Exchange and a few dealers we have known for years, and refine our gold from recycled sources with a Dubai refiner that follows the DMCC rules for responsible sourcing. It costs a little more. It’s the only way we want to work.

Atelier

  • Grains of recycled gold in a crucible on the bench

    Metal

    Recycled gold

Every piece is cast in 18ct gold refined from recycled sources, alloyed into yellow, rose and white, or in 950 platinum. Once refined, it is identical to newly mined gold, without the mining. We can also melt and cast your own family gold.

    Where our gold comes from
  • Loose champagne and white diamonds on a sorting tray

    Stones

    Traceable stones

Anouk buys every diamond herself, with a record of its mine, cutter and route to us, and every one under the Kimberley Process and System of Warranties. Sapphires and spinels come from a few dealers we have known for years.
