Emergency questions
What counts as a dental emergency?
Severe toothache, swelling in your face or jaw, a knocked-out or broken tooth, a lost filling or crown, or bleeding that won’t stop.
What should I do out of hours?
Call us anyway: out of hours, our answerphone gives the number of the dentist on call. If you have swelling that affects your breathing, swallowing or vision, go to the nearest hospital emergency department or call 998 for an ambulance.
A tooth has been knocked out. What now?
Hold it by the crown, not the root. Rinse it in milk, try to put it back in the socket, and call us straight away. Time matters.
