Twelve people, one big table
Designers, writers, a film director and a producer who keeps us on time.
Since 2016
We started Loud Hours in a spare room above a print shop in Karama. We’ve moved twice since, to a converted warehouse on Alserkal Avenue in Al Quoz, but we still work round one table, still argue about type, and still make every client a playlist.
Who leads
Every project has one of these four on it from the first call.
-
Mags Doyle
Co-founder, creative director
Started Loud Hours above a print shop in Karama in 2016, after eight years writing ads in Dublin and then Dubai. Still writes most of our headlines, and all of our playlists.
-
Kwame Asante
Co-founder, design director
Grew up in Accra and moved to Dubai in 2014 to run a packaging team. Type obsessive, and the reason every project has at least one argument about kerning. Leads identity and packaging.
-
Priya Raman
Head of strategy
Grew up in Sharjah and joined in 2019 from a research agency in Dubai Media City. Turns a messy first meeting into a one-page brief everyone can agree on.
-
Fran Romano
Producer
Moved from Milan to Dubai in 2018 to produce shoots in the desert. Keeps twelve people and about nine projects on time. Start a project with us and Fran is your first reply.
The rest of the table
-
Yusuf Patel
Led the Metro Lines Festival posters, and has a print of every one on his bedroom wall.
-
Karim Mansour
Shoots and cuts our launch films in-house. Came over from Beirut in 2019 and directed the Haul Bikes film with three families and one very calm dog.
-
Jordan Achebe
Names, lines and the words on the tub. Wrote most of the 212 names on the Pip & Ferment wall.
-
Ollie Brennan
Identity and packaging. Drew the Sundae Club drips by hand, all nine flavours.
-
Lena Kowalczyk
Joined as an intern in 2022. Makes logos move without making them wobble.
-
Paolo Reyes
Came from Manila in 2021. Websites, social templates and the guidelines our clients actually open.
-
Hessa Al Marri
Our 2025 intern from Zayed University, now full-time. Runs the Friday show-and-tell slideshow.
-
Nadia Haddad
Contracts, invoices, IT and the coffee order. Knows exactly who owns what on every project.
What we believe
-
Loud, not noisy
One clear thing, said with confidence, beats ten things shouted.
-
One idea, done properly
We’d rather make one idea work everywhere than make lots of nice things.
-
Say it in the room
Clients hear our honest opinion, early and to their face.
-
Home by six
Tired people make safe work. We keep sane hours and Fridays finish at one.
How we work
-
Small senior teams
Three or four people per project, led by someone who’s done it many times before.
-
Everything on the wall
Work in progress lives on the studio wall, and clients are welcome to come and argue with it.
-
Friday show and tell
Every Friday at eleven, everyone shows what they made that week, finished or not.
