What it involves
Some products need building from scratch: a new app for store teams, a customer portal, an internal tool that replaces three spreadsheets and a fax. We bring a whole team, so you don’t have to assemble one from scratch before you can start.
Every product engagement starts with the people who will use it. Our designers spend time on shop floors, in depots and in call centres before anyone opens an editor. Then we put a working version in real hands within eight to twelve weeks and improve it every fortnight from what we see.
Your product owner sets priorities and joins every demo. If you don’t have one yet, we’ll help you hire or grow one, because the product should outlive our involvement.

Day rates exclude 5% VAT. Where a rate sits in its range depends on experience; rates are the same in all three studios and fixed for 12 months from signing. Every engagement is quoted in writing before work starts.

Questions about product engineering
Do you build native or cross-platform apps?
Mostly cross-platform with React Native, which suits the store, depot and field apps we build. We go native when a product needs it, for example for heavy offline mapping or hardware scanners.
Can you work with our existing design system?
Yes. We’ll extend it rather than replace it, and hand back every component we add, documented.
Who owns the product decisions?
You do. Your product owner sets priorities; we bring evidence from research and usage data and tell you plainly when we’d choose differently.
What happens after launch?
Most clients keep a smaller team with us for three to six months while their own team grows, then we hand over completely.
